On WestSouthwest, a call to "clean up" Michigan's Constitution. And how Kalamazoo's first hospital got started.
When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is legal throughout the country, it meant that an amendment to Michigan's Constitution banning gay marriage became invalid. The Citizens Research Council says that's not the only part of the state Constitution that is obsolete. Senior Research Associate Craig Thiel explains why those sections should removed.
Borgess Health has now been part of Kalamazoo for over 125 years. Historian and author Larry Massie was commissioned by the hospital to write about its origins and evolution. His book Health Care Anew the First 125 Years of Borgess Health was published in March. WMUK's Zinta Aistars spoke with Massie. A segment of the interview originally aired on Between the Lines.
