On WestSouthwest, a look at Michigan's unique system of electing  state Supreme Court Justices and making the case for Quaker beliefs in public policy. 

Western Michigan University Political Science Professor Mark Hurwitz has explored the history of Michigan Supreme Court elections. He says despite a unique system that has "non-partisan" elections of judges nominated by political parties, change is not likely anytime soon. 

The Executive Secretary of the Friends Committee on National Legislation Diane Randall will speak in Kalamazoo on Saturday. She discusses advocating for Quaker beliefs in the halls on Congress and promoting political engagement.
