Kalamazoo College

On WestSouthwest, a discussion this week at Kalamazoo College on the changing landscape of religion in the United States.   And the history of lead exposure in the United States. 

The Pew Research Center finds a growing number of Americans don't have a religious affiliation. Senior Researcher Jessica Hamer Martinez will speak on those findings Tuesday night at Kalamazoo College. She tells WMUK's Gordon Evans that younger people, known as "Millennials" are driving changing views on religion.

The contamination of Flint's drinking water has brought more attention to people being exposed to lead. WMUK's Sehvilla Mann talks with University of Michigan Professor Stuart Batterman about the history of lead contamination and the efforts to regulate lead in various forms. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
