The first WestSouthwest of 2015 features two interviews originally broadcast in the last year. One on electing State Supreme Court Justices and another on hoarding.

Two Republicans and one Democrat won seats on the Michigan Supreme Court in the November election. But the ballot didn't tell voters what political party nominated the justices for the state's highest court. Western Michigan University Political Science Professor Mark Hurwitz has extensively studied and written about Michigan's unique system of electing state Supreme Court Justices. Hurwitz tells us why it isn't likely to change anytime soon.

The host to the Reality Television Show Hoarders visited Portage in December to promote his new book The Secrete Lives of Hoarders. WMUK's Andrea Johnson spoke with Matt Paxton just before his visit. A segment of the interview originally aired in WMUK's Arts & More.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
