On WestSouthwest, a call for accountability at all levels in Flint's water crisis. And the city of Kalamazoo's Day of Service to honor the life of Martin Luther King Junior. 

  

Great Lakes Echo Commentator Gary Wilson last joined us in November with some strong criticism of state officials. He took the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to task for a number of stumbles, including the water crisis in Flint. Wilson joins us again to question why the federal government hasn't done more to make sure that Flint's water is safe to drink.

The city of Kalamazoo will hold the 15th annual Martin Luther King Junior Community-Wide Day of Service on January 18th.  On the holiday to honor the life of the civil rights leader, people can volunteer for community service projects with various non-profit groups in the city. Martin Markos, Executive Assistant in the Kalamazoo City Manager's Office, tells us about the opportunities to give back.
