On WestSouthwest, a discussion about the cost of war, the money spent on weapons for the United States military, and sold to other countries. And a rebroadcast of an interview from last year with Kalamazoo Public Library Director Ryan Wieber.

Bill Hartung says 2018 looks like "an arms bonanza." The Director of the Arms and Security Project for the Center for International Policy says companies making weapons for the United States military will see higher profits under the Trump administration. But he says there were already doing well while President Obama was in office. Hartung speaks in Kalamazoo on Wednesday at an event sponsored by Kalamazoo Non-Violent Opponents of War.

Last year we sat down with Kalamazoo Public Library Director Ryan Wieber. He started that job August first. We present a rebroadcast of a segment of that interview, which originally aired in October.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
