On WestSouthwest, a tax credit for working poor families has become part of the debate over road funding. And a new church created to be more "welcoming."

The Michigan Legislature is seeking money to pay for road repair. The state House has approved a plan that includes ending the state Earned Income Tax Credit, and using that money for infrastructure. Michigan League for Public Policy President Gilda Jacobs says that would be a mistake.

The new Common Ground Church is currently holding services at Western Michigan University's Fetzer Center. Encore Magazine recently explored the church's efforts to create a more welcoming atmosphere and find a new home. Writer Andrew Domino tells us about the church's launch and its aspirations.
