Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center

On WestSouthwest, a discussion of issues facing the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community. And an effort to curb youth violence in Kalamazoo. 

  

Jay Maddock was named executive director of the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center earlier this month. He sits down with WMUK's Gordon Evans to discuss the group's work, and issues such as same-sex marriage, discrimination and hate crimes.

Kalamazoo's Educating for Freedom in Schools will hold its annual Summer Extravaganza and Finale on Friday. Executive director Demarra Gardner and one of the event's speakers, student C.J. Bragg, discuss the emphasis of this year's program ending youth violence. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
