On WestSouthwest, the case for taxing carbon to address climate change, and a look at the finances and transparency of charter schools. 

      

Dana Mains of Fenville is the group leader of the new Kalamazoo chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby. She explains how a carbon tax would work. Mains says it would curb greenhouse gasses and help create jobs. 

And the Detroit Free Press recently examined the accountability of charter schools in Michigan. They found a lack of transparency in the finances. Western Michigan University Professor Gary Miron has written extensively on charter schools. He weighs in on the series and how the schools operate.
