On WestSouthwest, one of the three Republicans running for state House in the 66th District which includes Van Buren and northwest Kalamazoo County. And Bridge Staff Writer Nancy Derringer discusses the options Michigan's lower-income families have for child care.

There will be a new state Representative in Michigan's 66th District next year. Aric Nesbitt cannot run for re-election because of term limits. WMUK's Gordon Evans sat down with Matt Nislon is one of three Republicans running to represent Van Buren and northwest Kalamazoo County in the state House. 

Bridge examined the state of child care in Michigan, and the ways that lower income families qualify for assistance. Staff Writer Nancy Derringer wrote the story, and tells us how Michigan's system compares to other states. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
