On WestSouthwest, two Republican candidates seeking state House seats in neighboring districts.

   

Calhoun County Commission Chairman Art Kale is seeking the Republican nomination in the 62nd District, which includes the city of Battle Creek. He is one of two Republicans and three Democrats running for seat currently held by Democratic Representative Kate Segal. She cannot run again because of term limits. 

Marshall School Board President Vic Potter is running for state House in the district that includes parts of Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties. State House Speaker Jase Bolger cannot run for re-election in the 63rd District because of term limits. Potter is one of two Republicans seeking the seat. Only one Democrat is in the race. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
