On WestSouthwest, we continue hearing from candidates in the August primary. Today from two men facing each other this summer.

West Michigan Congressman Fred Upton is seeking another two year term in the U.S. House. He was first elected in 1986 and is now chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Upton says there is a long list of issues he wants to work on, if he is re-elected.

Jim Bussler is the challenger for the Republican nomination in the Sixth District. The registered nurse from Dowagiac says he wants to represent the people, and doesn't want to go to Washington and become a politician.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
