On WestSouthwest, the budget battles over Great Lakes funding. And a Kalamazoo Central High School student shares his experience at the "March for Our Lives" in Washington D.C.

The budget bill signed by President Trump last week keeps money in tact for Great Lakes restoration programs. The President had proposed at one point eliminating the funding. But Contributor to Detroit Public Television's Great Lakes Bureau Gary Wilson says the fight over funding Great Lakes programs will likely resume with next year's budget. 

Four Kalamazoo Central High School students traveled to Washington D.C. to be part of the "March For Our Lives" this past weekend. Reuben Glasser tells us about his experience, and what the group Students for Gun Legislation plans next.
