WestSouthwest - May 28th, 2014

WMUK

The Democratic candidate for Congress in Michigan's 6th Congressional District joins us, and we discuss a study on Michigan's foster care system.

Western Michigan University Political Science Professor Paul Clements is the only Democrat running for the Southwest Michigan district currently represented by Republican Fred Upton. He tells WMUK's Gordon Evans and Kalamazoo Gazette reporter Yvonne Zipp what he would do if elected to Congress.

WMUK's Gordon Evans talks with Paul Elam of the Public Policy Associates. He was the project manager of a study showing large racial disparities in Michigan's foster care system.

Beginning next week, WestSouthwest will air twice a week on WMUK. It can be heard Monday and Thursday mornings at 9:20. Extended interviews and more can still be found on our website.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
