On WestSouthwest gay rights and wolf hunting are examined after a busy week for both issues.

A Federal Appeals Court has allowed Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage to stand. Equality Michigan Director Emily Dievendorf discusses what lies ahead on that issue, and what last week's election could mean for protections against discrimination.

On Election Day, voter rejected two Michigan laws that would allow the hunting of wolves in part of the Upper Peninsula. The votes may end up being symbolic. Nancy Gibson of the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota says science should dictate policies in all states on hunting wolves.
