On WestSouthwest, we hear from the mayors of Kalamazoo and Portage on issues facing their cities and the region. Plus MiBiz Senior Writer Mark Sanchez explains Perrigo's efforts to fend off a hostile takeover bid from Mylan, and where the company may go from here.

Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell and Portage Mayor Peter Strazdas were both re-elected this month. They sit down with WMUK's Gordon Evans to discuss the major issues they see over the next two years, and how the two cities may seek more opportunities for collaboration and sharing services.

Perrigo shareholders rejected a hostile takeover bid from Mylan. Well under 50% of the company's stockholders agreed to the offer to sell off their stock. MiBiz Senior Writer Mark Sanchez has spent months covering the story of offers, rejections and a hostile takeover bid.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
