On WestSouthwest, a discussion about the city of Kalamazoo's Foundation for Excellence. And the annual Summit on Racism Friday in Kalamazoo. 

Michelle Miller-Adams has written two books about the Kalamazoo Promise. The Grand Valley State University Professor, who is also a Research Fellow at the Upjohn Institute for Employment Research in Kalamazoo, explores the similarities and differences between the Promise and the city of Kalamazoo's Foundation for Excellence.

The annual Summit on Racism in Kalamazoo is being held on Friday. The executive director of the Society for History and Racial Equity Donna Odom tells us how recent events, including last week's election, will be part of this year's summit. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
