Southwest Michigan Black Heritage Society

On WestSouthwest, journalist and food advocate Michael Pollan and the 10th annual Summit on Racism in Kalamazoo. 

Michael Pollan will speak at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium on Thursday. He tells WMUK's Gordon Evans that food branches into many parts of our life, including health, the environment and the economy. 

The 10th annual Summit on Racism in Kalamazoo is being held later this month. WMUK's Earlene McMichael speaks with Donna Odom of the Southwest Michigan Black Heritage Society and Cheree Thomas of the YWCA of Greater Kalamazoo. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
