Upjohn Institute Researcher Michelle Miller-Adams has written her second book about the Kalamazoo Promise. In Promise Nation: Transforming Communities Through Place Based Scholarships, the Grand Valley State University Political Science Professor, chronicles the spread of programs following the announcement of the Kalamazoo Promise ten years ago.
Benjamin Busch has written about his two tours of duty in Iraq in the book Dust to Dust, and in magazine articles for several publications. The Marine Veteran is also an actor and film maker. Busch will speak at Western Michigan on Wednesday about the transition from military to civilian life. He also wants his fellow veterans to find ways to express themselves through the arts.
