We hear from two more candidates for state Legislature on WestSouthwest. 

  

Republican state Senator Mike Nofs is running for his second full term representing Calhoun County and most of Jackson County. He was originally elected in 2009 to a partial term in the state Senate. Before that, Nofs served six years in the state House.

Democrat John Fisher is running in the 61st state House District. That includes the city of Portage and several surrounding townships. Fisher is a United Methodist Minister. He is running for a seat currently held by Republican Margaret O'Brien. She is running for state Senate.  

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
