On WestSouthwest, we discuss gender equality with the Director of the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan. And a preview of the Michigan Autism Conference coming up in mid September.

The Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan is planning to increase its focus on issues of gender equality. Director Jan Barker says that includes pay inequality, the lack of women in elected office and sexual assault on campus.

The Michigan Autism Conference is scheduled for September 14-16 in Kalamazoo. We talk with one of the organizers, Western Michigan University doctoral student Thom Ratkos.
