On WestSouthwest, two candidates running for state House. 

  

Battle Creek City Commissioner Andy Helmboldt is the Democratic nominee in the 62nd state House district, which includes Battle Creek. He is running for the seat currently held by Democrat Kate Segal. She can't run again because of term limits.

Kalamazoo County Commission Chairman Dave Maturen is the Republican candidate in the 63rd state House district, which includes parts of Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties. House Speaker Jase Bolger cannot seek another term representing that district because of term limits.   

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
