On WestSouthwest, a film about stuttering will be screened in Kalamazoo this week. And an interview with the Green Party candidate for state House in the district that includes Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties.

Film maker Michael Turner's story of stuttering The Way We Talk is being shown at Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Thursday. Turner will attend to discuss his movie. He's also one of the speaker for the annual Van Riper lecture series at Western Michigan University. Turner and WMU Professor Stephen Tasko join us to discuss the movie and stuttering.

John Anthony La Pietra is the Green Party candidate for state House in the 63rd district, which includes part of Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties. He joins us to tell us what he would do, if elected.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
