On WestSouthwest, Oceanographer Sylvia Earle speaks in Kalamazoo next week. And the late Daniel Berrigan will be remembered in Kalamazoo this week.

Sylvia Earle has spent thousands of hours in her life beneath the surface of the ocean. She will speak October 6 in Kalamazoo. Earle warns us that ocean life is in trouble, and that has big implications for people.

The Reverend Daniel Berrigan died earlier this year at the age of 94. TA memorial service is being held in Kalamazoo this weekend to honor the life and activism of the late Catholic priest. Kalamazoo Peace House co-founder Jerry Berrigan remembers his uncle and his work against war.
