Western Michigan University School of Music

WMU concerto competition winners flutist Heidi Keener, bassoonist Mingyuan Yang and cellist Adriana Fernández will each perform virtuoso works with the Western Michigan University in a free concert that will bring the 2015-16 WMU season to a conclusion on Sunday. Dr. Bruce Uchimura, conductor of the WMU Symphony Orchestra, describes the works on the program, which include showpieces by Mozart, Bloch, and Doppler as well as Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Soloist Adriana Fernandez, a graduate student from Ecuador, talks about her experience at Western's School of Music.

The 57th Annual Concerto Concert will take place on Sunday at 3 pm, in Miller Auditorium.
