WMU Faculty to Hold "No Confidence" Vote on Provost

Western Michigan University faculty members meet Friday, January 30, to consider a "no confidence" vote in Provost Tim Greene.

That follows controversy last week when it was announced that Greene had decided not to re-appoint Alex Enyedi, the popular dean of the university's College of Arts and Sciences. Earlier, Greene had been criticized by some faculty members for his handling of complaints that female professors are often paid less than their male colleagues.

The American Association of University Professors, the union that represents Western's full-time faculty, says a "no confidence" vote proposal will be considered at a special meeting that starts at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Bernhard Center.
