WMU Helps Detroit Get "Lean"

WMUK

The City of Detroit hopes to get some help in Kalamazoo as it works its way through bankruptcy. It hopes students and staff at a program at Western Michigan University can help the city become more efficient.

Teams from Western's Integrated Supply Management Program are working on how Detroit handles maintenance and supplies. University officials say the teams will give Detroit leaders recommendations on ways to make operations "leaner".

They say the two "Bronco Force Solutions" teams include alumni as well as current students and university staff.
