WMU picks new education dean

WMU University Relations

Western Michigan University will soon have a new dean at its College of Education and Human Development. He's Ming Li, who's currently the interim head of the Center for International Studies at Ohio University. Li will replace interim Western education dean Walter Burt. Li starts his new position in Kalamazoo September 1st. Besides education, Li is also involved in research on sports management and the financial side of athletics.

Li received a bachelor's degree from Guangzhou Sport University in China in 1983 and his master's degree from Hangzhou University three years later. He got a doctoral degree in 1992 from the University of Kansas before holding positions at Georgia Southern University. Li has been at Ohio University in various capacities since 2003.

Andy Robins has been WMUK's News Director since 1998 and a broadcast journalist for over 24 years. He joined WMUK's staff in 1985. Under his direction, WMUK has received numerous awards for news reporting.
