One of Western Michigan University's Trustees plans to step down from the board.
During Tuesday's Board of Trustees meeting, chairman Jim Hettinger announced that Michelle Crumm plans to resign. Hettinger announced at the beginning of the meeting that Crumm had notified both Governor Rick Snyder and Western President John Dunn of her plans. Hettinger said Crumm didn't feel that she could fulfill her obligations as a board member while living in Ann Arbor.
Crumm was appointed to the Western board in 2012. Her term runs through the end of 2020. WMU trustees are appointed by the governor. The appointments stand unless rejected by the state Senate within 60 days.
