Voters in Portage will elect a mayor and three members to the City Council on November third. All of the candidates participated in a forum on Wednesday September 30th hosted by the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Incumbent mayor Peter Strazdas is running unopposed for re-election. Five candidates are running for the three seats on the city commission. Incumbents Richard Ford, Patricia Randall and Jim Pearson are seeking four year terms. The challengers are Jeff Bright and Tim Earl who had to be out of town and participated in the forum via a video hookup. The forum was held at the Portage District Library
