Animal facility proposed for Berrien County

New facility would replace obsolete pound in Berrien Township
ST. JOSEPH - The Berrien County Board on Thursday approved a contract for initial engineering work on the site of a proposed new animal control facility in Benton Township. The contract is with Wightman & Associates for $36,600. The company will work on design and construction engineering, do soil borings and check out wetlands.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The draft of a dangerous dog law that could give animal control officers more leeway in preventing bites before they happen does not single out any breed for special attention, said the bill's sponsor, State Rep. Sean McCann, D-Kalamazoo.
