Holland City Council approves fireworks ordinances

DISCUSSION In April, the city council approved a fireworks ordinance that limited the use and ignition of them to the 10 federal holidays listed under state law and the day before and after each - meaning fireworks would only be allowed 30 days out of the year.

Holland City Council approves trial period for overnight, on street parking

Pilot program will run from May to September next year
What the pilot program will look like is a matter to be voted on later and could be as debated as the initial question of whether to go through with it. Because it is a contested issue, council agreed at a study session two weeks ago that city staff should not waste time developing the details for a pilot program if it could ultimately fail.

Holland City Council to consider overnight parking, fate of Wooden Shoe Hotel this week

Holland City Council eliminates Human Resources Director position

Director Al Serrano retired February first. Supporters of eliminating the full-time position say there's been no loss of services since then.
The Holland City Council voted 8-1 to eliminate the human relations director position in favor of hiring two part-time bilingual and preferably bicultural employees who will handle the duties of that office instead.
