Saugatuck Dunes housing approved despite protests

The Saugatuck Township Zoning Board of Appeals claimed opponents to the housing development will not be “aggrieved” by the building project.
SAUGATUCK TOWNSHIP, MI -- An appeal by neighbors and an environmental group to stop a residential development on critical dunes and wetlands was denied by the township Zoning Board of Appeals Thursday. The ZBA found that those appealing did not have standing as being "aggrieved" by development of the land according to state law and legal precedents to bring an appeal.
