KALAMAZOO, MI - Michelle Grevenstuk approached the Kalamazoo Marathon with a "why not" attitude. The 31-year-old Otsego resident competed in the inaugural 26.2-mile run at the Borgess Run for the Health of It in Kalamazoo two years ago, she was a spectator last year and on Sunday she was a winner.

KALAMAZOO, MI - Justin Gillette seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself during the Kalamazoo Marathon Sunday. The professional marathoner from Goshen, Ind., was encouraging spectators at spirit stations along the course to cheer louder, he high-fived a few others and he got a crowd gathered downtown to laugh when he made an unexpected stop to answer nature's call in a porta-potty.

Few security adjustments made for Kalamazoo Marathon

KALAMAZOO, MI - Kalamazoo Marathon race director Blaine Lam said a few minor adjustments were made for the Borgess Run for the Health of It events on May 5 after a run through checklists with medical and security officials Tuesday morning. Lam said he hopes the most notable change from last year will be unnoticed by runners and spectators.
