Battle Creek Ordered to Pay $81,000 for Uncompensated Overtime

The city had to pay about $73,000 to firefighters last year.
The city of Battle Creek will pay an additional $81,000 in unpaid overtime after an audit from the U.S. Department of Labor found more violations of federal wage laws. The city will issue $80,592.81 in payments to 265 current and former employees by the end of next week following the Labor Department's investigation that looked into the city departments' overtime payments between Oct.
