Cooley Law Makes Layoffs While Merging With WMU

LANSING -- Faculty and staff cuts have been made at Thomas M. Cooley Law School the same week that the school formally added its affiliation with Western Michigan University to its name. James Robb, associate dean of external affairs for Cooley, confirmed Friday that the school has let go some faculty and staff members at its Michigan campuses.

Otsego Public Schools lays off 8 teachers, staff

To balance its budget, Otsego Public Schools has cut a dozen jobs.
OTSEGO, MI -- Otsego Public Schools has cut a dozen jobs -- including eight teaching positions, the director of community education and several support staff -- to balance its 2013-14 operating budget. "We can't keep living off our fund balance, bottom line," Superintendent Dennis Patzer said.
