Marshall City Council rescinds overlay district for Oaklawn Hospital

The Hospital Campus Overlay District will be sent back to the Marshall Planning Commission after city council voted to rescind the ordinance. At its regular meeting Monday, council members unanimously voted to rescind the ordinance, which details additional zoning regulations for Oaklawn Hospital’s expansion plans over the next 20 years.

Marshall residents file petitions against overlay for Oaklawn Hospital

MARSHALL - Residents believe they have gathered enough petition signatures to force a referendum on the city's Hospital Campus Overlay District ordinance. Martin Overhiser, president of the Marshall Neighborhood Association, said some 20 registered voters helped collect 998 signatures. Only 543 are required to put the issue on the ballot, possibly in the fall.

Lawsuit filed over hospital overlay district in Marshall

MARSHALL - The debate over the approved Hospital Campus Overlay District in Marshall doesn't appear to be over yet. The Marshall Neighborhood Association has filed a lawsuit against the city of Marshall over the approval of the overlay. In response, city council members unanimously voted Monday night to hire the Detroit-based law firm, Miller Canfield.
