The new test, which is replacing the MEAP (the Michigan Education Assessment Program), marks the first time student performance on statewide tests will be part of teacher evaluations in Michigan, starting with the 2014-15 school year.

Legislature Could Keep MEAP Test Alive in Michigan Schools

State Superintendent Mike Flanagan has said MEAP is not an option for the future
LANSING -- The venerable MEAP exam is set to retire, but the Michigan Legislature took steps Thursday to give it another two years. Identical language in both the House and Senate versions of the state's school aid budget would make schools ineligible for state funding if they do not give the MEAP exam for the next two years.

Battle Creek Area MEAP Test Results Show Math Up, Reading Scores Mixed
