Pennfield superintendent will drop "interim" from title

Interim Pennfield Schools Superintendent Tim Everett will drop the "interim" from his title after he today accepted an offer to become the district's full-time chief executive. Everett will now enter contract negotiations with the district's Board of Education. The district's last superintendent, Ben Laser, made $136,605in annual salary when he left the district this summer.

Interim Pennfield Superintendent offered job

School Board offered Tom Everett job after Thursday's School Board meeting. Everett says he will likely accept the offer.
Tim Everett, a longtime Pennfield Schools parent, activist, volunteer, coach and staffer, has been asked to lead the district. The Pennfield Board of Education voted 6-1, with Treasurer Abby Green dissenting, to offer the permanent superintendent job to Everett. He has served as interim superintendent since August.

When he stepped in as Pennfield Schools' interim superintendent this summer, Tim Everett told anyone who'd listen that he was doing so only to help his district and wasn't interested in the permanent post. This week, however, Everett agreed to at least have a conversation with the district's Board of Education about dropping the "interim" from his title.

Pennfield Schools name interim superintendent

Following a trio of interviews dominated by talk of rebuilding trust and consensus, the Pennfield Schools Board of Education on Monday tapped Technology Director Tim Everett to lead the district for the 2013-14 school year. The board voted 6-0, with Trustee Jack Wollaston absent, to ask Everett to step in as a temporary replacement for former superintendent Ben Laser.
