Update: WMU temporarily suspends fraternity after weekend shooting

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Western Michigan University has temporarily suspended Phi Beta Sigma, the university announced Monday. The fraternity house was the site of a shooting incident early Sunday morning, in which two people were injured. The university said in a press release that the suspension comes while WMU officials await an official police report.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Western Michigan University officials are awaiting the results of a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety investigation following a shooting outside a frat house on West Michigan Avenue. A Kalamazoo man was shot in the leg and a female victim suffered a back injury, possibly from being hit with flying glass during an altercation early Sunday morning, police have said.
