Van Buren County to receive grant for government efficiency

PAW PAW, MI -- Van Buren County will receive a state grant that will make it easier to share technology services and tax assessment information, according to a news release from State Rep. Aric Nesbitt. The Michigan Department of Treasury is giving the county $314,629 from the Competitive Grant Assistance Program, one of 17 state grants from the program totaling $6 million, Nesbitt said.

PAW PAW, MI -- The Van Buren County Board of Commissioners has tentatively OK'd a research proposal for the large sand dune that straddles the North Point Land Preserve and the Syndicate Park subdivision south of South Haven. "Essentially, the proposal is to take an academic review of Syndicate Park," Commissioners John "Mike" Henry said during Tuesday's county board meeting.
