OTSEGO, MI -- An outbuilding at the beleaguered former site of the Rock Tenn paper mill on Helen Avenue has collapsed under the weight of accumulated snow, but no one's complaining. "It may actually reduce the demolition cost for that particular building," said Dan Wedge, executive director of services for Allegan County.

Battle Creek Issuing Tickets for Snow Covered Sidewalks

The city of Battle Creek has issued 260 tickets since the beginning of this year to residents and property owners for unshoveled sidewalks. During a tough winter with large amounts of snowfall and frigid temperatures, code enforcement officials have been handing citations to those who aren't abiding by a city ordinance that requires them to clear public sidewalks next to their property of fallen or drifted snow.
