Right to Life has submitted petition signatures for a voter-initiated law

Anti-abortion activists have gathered more than 300,000 signatures.

A Michigan anti-abortion group says it has turned in more than 315,000 petition signatures. The Gongwer News Service says the initiative my Right to Life is aimed at preventing employers from offering abortion coverage in their health plans. Employees would be forced to by a rider to their policy at extra cost.

Supporters of the measure need 258,088 valid signatures to put the measure before lawmakers.

If approved, the proposed law would not allow women to get abortion riders on their insurance policies after they become pregnant.
