Lansing — The state transportation chief has delayed the purchase of a set of new passenger cars for the Detroit-Chicago Amtrak route following an audit critical of his department for leasing another set of cars that are idle. (Detroit News)


The Michigan Department of Transportation and Amtrak have announced additional trains between Michigan and Chicago around Thanksgiving. 

Upgrades should be completed by 2017 or 2018
