On Veterans’ Day 2014, several students, faculty, and staff will share stories about their military service. It’s the first of a planned series of annual events called “Stories from the Barracks to the Front”.

Last year, President Obama and the First Lady danced with Indian children in recognition of the Hindu holiday Diwali. The holiday is often called the Festival of Lights. Hindus decorate their homes with strings of lights and light oil lamps at ceremonies. 

Last month, residents of Kalamazoo met for a discussion about race and equality at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. Now the project has turned into an oral history exhibit called “Voices for Social Justice.” The display will be up through January 19th.
