Battle Creek to demolish two buildings to fight blight

Two vacant commercial buildings on Capital Avenue Northeast are slated for demolition as the city continues to battle against blight. Battle Creek commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday night to accept a $64,050 offer from Pitsch Co., which beat out three higher bids, to tear down the buildings at 411, 415, 427 and 429 Capital Ave.
