KALAMAZOO, MI - Kalamazoo County commissioners likely will grant an extension to the city of Kalamazoo's lease for Bronson Park, but further discussion is needed before commissioners consider a sale or transfer of the park, they said Tuesday.

Kalamazoo Considers Extending Urban Trail Downtown

This could be a decisive year for Kalamazoo’s urban trails. That’s because the city is likely to vote on proposals to extend the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail through the city’s downtown. But while extending the trail is a popular idea, it may prove tough to find a path everyone can agree on.

City of Kalamazoo Looks to Purchase Bronson Park from County

KALAMAZOO, MI - After leasing Bronson Park from Kalamazoo County through different agreements since 1855, the city of Kalamazoo is now hoping to purchase the land outright. In a letter to Kalamazoo County Corporate Counsel Thom Canny, Kalamazoo City attorney Clyde Robinson states that in light of the two parties' 50-year lease recently expiring, the city wishes to acquire Bronson Park as opposed to entering another leasing agreement.

KALAMAZOO, MI - Kalamazoo Valley Community College unveiled new site plans for its$35 million health-focused campus at its February Board meeting Tuesday evening. The downtown location would be split into North and South campuses and connected along Portage Creek by a series of boardwalks and trailways, Michael Collins, executive vice president of instructional and student support services, told the board.
