Snyder Maintains Fundraising Advantage Over Schauer

Lansing Gov. Rick Snyder has a campaign cash advantage over Democratic challenger Mark Schauer heading into the final nine weeks of the general election race. The Republican governor reported having more than $2.8 million in his campaign war chest in late August, about $800,000 more than Schauer had on hand.

Four Michigan Donors Take Advantage of New Campaign Contribution Limits

Four Michiganians are among 310 nationwide who have taken advantage of a U.S. Supreme Court decision four months ago that eliminated limits on the amount of overall political contributions and have increased their giving, according to a Center for Responsive Politics analysis.

Official Says Township Responsible for Improper Tax Break on Home of Snyder Aide

LANSING - The assessor for Bath Township says it's the fault of the township - not Gov. Rick Snyder's aide Rich Baird - that Baird was improperly receiving a personal residence exemption for two homes. Beth Botke told the Free Press Tuesday she researched the tax issue and found Baird never requested a PRE for the home he bought in Bath Township in 2011.

Calhoun County Commissioner Terris Todd Running Write-in Campaign for State House

Terris Todd, who fell short of winning the Democratic primary in the 62nd state House District, will run as a write-in candidate. The Calhoun County commissioner said he decided to continue his bid for the seat after being encouraged by his family and supporters.
