Tribe ends Emmett Township Police contract at Firekeeper's Casino

In a letter, the chairman of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi says police duties will be handled by the Tribal Police Department.
Emmett Township wants answers from the owners of FireKeepers Casino Hotel, three weeks before the township must lay off five public safety officers. "I am sending them a letter today demanding that we get some answers back by Friday," Township Supervisor Tim Hill said Tuesday.
