KALAMAZOO, MI --A request for a 0.65-mill tax increase for Gull Lake Community Schools has been pulled from the May 6 ballot, now that school officials have learned that they won a Feb. 25 vote on the issue. "It's off the ballot," Kalamazoo County Clerk Tim Snow said Thursday about the Gull Lake proposal.

RICHLAND, MI -- Thanks to a batch of spoiled votes, it turns out that Gull Lake Community Schools passed a Feb. 25 ballot request after all. A recount Monday changed the tally to 1,016 "yes" to 1,013 "no," which means the request was approved by three votes.

RICHLAND, MI - While results are still unofficial, it appears voters in the Gull Lake school district have rejected a millage proposa l for facility upgrade by a narrow five-vote margin. The proposed 0.65-mill tax increase was defeated with just over 50 percent of voters, by an unofficial tally of 1,029 to 1,024.
